Indication: |
Candidemia; esophageal candidiasis; intra-abdominal abcess and
peritonitis due to Candida infection |

Pharmacology: |
Echinocandin antifungal agent |
|
Usual Dose: |
Candidemia and Candida infections: 200 mg IV on day 1,
followed by 100 mg daily Esophageal candidiasis: 100 mg IV
on day 1, followed by 50 mg daily |

Contraindications: |
Hypersensitivity to echinocandins or any ingredients |
|
Warnings: |
Do not exceed maximum recommended infusion rate of 1.1 mg/minute
Monitor closely if liver function test abnormalities occur; consider
risk vs. benefit of continuing drug if liver function deteriorates
Safety and efficacy not established in pediatric patients
Lactation: administer only if potential benefit outweighs risk |
