Usual Dose: |
0.5 mg once a day for 3 days, then 0.5 mg twice daily for 4 days,
followed by 1 mg twice daily |

Contraindications: |

Warnings: |
Nausea is common and may improve with dose reduction Dose
adjustments of other drugs (e.g., insulin, theophylline, warfarin)
may be required after cessation of smoking due to pharmacokinetic
changes
Safety and efficacy have not been established in children < 18
years
Breast-feeding mothers should either discontinue nursing or
discontinue the drug
Renally impaired patients may have a greater risk of toxicity;
dose reduction is recommended
Tablets should be taken with a full glass of water and after
eating
Patients should begin taking the tablets one week before they
stop smoking |
